Joyce Thorn Memorial Women’s Pairs

TBB hope to broadcast the full Joyce Thorn Memorial; however, with the amalgamation of Central Murray and Golden Rivers Football Netball League and a very handy Koondrook Barham River Raiders football and netball teams who can make it to the finals, TBB won’t know until closer to the event, at this stage, Sunday is the plan (at least).

Two Weeks Post Ankle Reconstruction

Last week was a bit stressful. I had a huge fall/pass-out moment while checking the durability of the knee, ankle, and plaster. The big toe took most of the brunt and had some very good, deep bruises. I had the plaster removed on Thursday and, wow!

Many years ago, I was able to test a POD Ankle brace. They are awesome. When the ankle hurts, I just wear it, and the brace is good enough that you can wear whatever shoe you like with it. My surgeon has approved the use of the POD brace and the moon boot for post-surgery rehab. Very impressed with the brace and my progress.

Hopefully, I will be able to drive the van, which would be a slow, quiet progression. I will be able to broadcast sporting events.

One Week after ankle surgery

Wow, what an adventurous week. I spent an extra night in the hospital, as what the MRI displayed and what Dr Senthil Rengasamy found when inside my ankle, three broken ligaments and the ligaments were broken for a long time. DVA documentation 03/10/1999, the same day I destroyed my knww (which was replaced nearly two years ago). I aggravated the ankle more when I was at an enemy party at Puckapunyal, landed awkwardly, saved the knee, but damaged the ankle. My focus was on the knee, as it hurt more.

Now, a week after surgery, things are surprisingly good. I am in plaster for another week, then onto a moon boot. I am just not sure how long the recovery will take; one ligament was 6-8 weeks, and this could push out to 8-10+. It will take as long as it takes; I am very grateful not to be in pain. It is a weird feeling being pain-free; my body is taking its time to adjust.

Bowls Broadcasting; there are a few ideas floating around, but the test will come when I feel I can drive Sir Charles (VW Van) a manual, a very easy manual. The hardest part will be getting in nd out of the driver’s seat. I think I’m nearly there.

Other sports, the local footy is a little political with historic agreements, and I am still playing with my gear to get it right.

I’ll do what I can. If you subscribe to @kajx112, you’ll receive a notification every time we go live. Same for the Bowls Broadcast, if you subscribe, you will be notified when we go live @thebowlsbroadcast

Ankle Surgery

Hi everyone, KJ will be slowed down a little at the end of the month. Two years ago (in June), I had a full total knee replacement. When I injured my knee in October of 1996, the ankle was also an issue, but the knee hurt more, like a squeaky door; it got the attention first. So losing balance may not be because I am uncoordinated after all. The plan is two weeks in a plaster cast after surgery, followed by a moon boot for a few weeks. The unknown awaits, but hopefully, like my knee replacement, it will only be slowed a little, being pain-free.

This is what the surgeon will do to repair my ATFL.
